THE 11TH ST. BAR OFFERS LIVE MUSIC FIVE NIGHTS A WEEK, SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
Sunday night is our Traditional Irish Seisiun. It is one of the longest running seisuns in NYC. Tony DeMarco and Isaac Alderson run the show and are joined by some of the best trad players from around the world. The tunes start at 9pm and go till late.
Monday night is Jazz Night. Our house band, The 11th St. Quintet, is lead by Richard Clements and Murray Wall. They are joined by a rotating group of some of the finest jazz musicians in the Big Apple. We do not book any other jazz bands and do not have jazz music on any other nights.
Tuesday through Thursday Nights we book some type of Americana Music… Rock, Country, or Blues. We very rarely book cover bands and we mostly book musicians from our local community that help us promote and make the music nights lively. We very rarely book just singer/songwriters without a band. Also, we do not generally book bands on Fridays or Saturdays as we use the back room for parties.
As per our Liquor License, we are on a side street and therefore not allowed to have ticketed events, charge a cover, or have lines of people waiting outside our bar. Therefore, the tip bucket is our only option for gigs. Bands are welcome to sell their merchandise and they can pass the tip bucket however many times they like. It is the band’s responsibility to have someone pass the bucket.
We work hard to maintain a good relationship with our neighbors. Therefore, we are not interested in excessively loud bands. We have a sound monitor in the ceiling and the band must stay below 105 decibels. Bands must use our house drum kit and our bass amp. We also have a standup piano and a variety of guitar amplifiers. Our mixing board is a Midas M32 with 8 channels and we provide 4 mics and mic stands. The board and lighting rig will be controlled by one of our sound engineers.
If your band gets a gig, brings some folks down, and the show goes well, we can discuss another booking… that is after the backline equipment is properly replaced to storage.
If you have fully read everything above and think your band would be a good fit, please fill out the form below and tell us why. Then give us some time and we’ll give it a listen and get back to you. Keep in mind that we only book three bands a week and we can’t just give a gig to everyone. If it is evident to us that you didn’t read the above and just filled out the form don’t expect a response. Cheers.
